Wockhardt Hospitals achieves Joint Commission International accreditation

Wockhardt Hospitals is the first and only multi specialty hospital in South Mumbai to receive accreditation by US based Joint Commission International (JCI) which focuses on high standard of clinical quality parameters and outcomes. Joint Commission International  is the Gold Standard accrediting hospitals on quality patient care across the world.

This accreditation reaffirms the stringent quality parameters that Wockhardt Hospitals has established. The hospital was surveyed for over 1,200 measurable elements of care and patient safety by the Tracer Methodology which included interaction with the professional doctors, nurses, technicians and patients.

This accreditation places Wockhardt Hospitals in South Mumbai on a global healthcare space for providing excellence in surgical, medical & critical care. The stringent patient and hospital oriented standards are designed to ensure a safe environment and reduce risks to patients and caregivers. The process helps to improve clinical outcomes, enhance efficiency and improve patient satisfaction.

Wockhardt Hospitals critical care is the only facility in South Mumbai meeting international parameters which deals with medical emergencies such as brain stroke, heart
attacks and accidental emergencies.  

At all times, it has fully qualified consultants, nurses and other hospital staff to deal with these emergencies. There is a thorough evaluation of emergency preparedness and response to life threatening situations like cardiac arrest – Code Blue, fire preparedness – Code Red, impending external disaster – Code Grey and many others.

The process evaluates and endorses the ethical standards in the hospital. Patients and families are interviewed for the way in which the hospital respects patient beliefs, religious and cultural values and patient rights and conducts patient and family education on specific disease and care processes both within the hospital and
post discharge.

Wockhardt Hospitals has an ongoing relationship with Partners Medical International, the international division of Partners HealthCare, an integrated healthcare system founded by Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the two largest teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.
